Prepare Domain
Before you initiate the transfer process, make sure your domain is eligible for transfer and meets the following criteria:
- The domain must be unlocked at your current registrar.
- You should have access to the domain's administrative contact email address.
- The domain should not be within 60 days of its initial registration or a previous transfer.
- Ensure that the domain's WHOIS information is accurate and up to date.
Start Transfer
Once your domain is prepared, it's time to start the transfer process:
- Log in to your GitGang account or create a new one if you haven't already.
- Navigate to the domain transfer section and enter the domain name you wish to transfer.
- Follow the prompts to provide any required authorization codes or transfer permissions from your current registrar.
- Review and confirm the transfer details, including the domain name, registration period, and any associated fees.
Approve Transfer
After initiating the transfer, you'll need to approve it through your current registrar:
- Check your email for a transfer confirmation message from your current registrar.
- Follow the instructions provided in the email to approve the transfer request.
- Some registrars may require you to log in to your account and manually approve the transfer from your domain management dashboard.
Transfer Accepted
Once you've approved the transfer, it will be processed by your current registrar and completed within 5 to 7 days:
- Keep an eye on your email for notifications regarding the transfer status.
- You may receive additional emails from your current registrar or GitGang requesting further action or verification.
- Once the transfer is complete, you'll receive a confirmation email from GitGang, and your domain will be fully managed within your GitGang account.
